Financial and Facilities Crossroads |
Our Request |
Over the last 10 years, the district has reduced its budget significantly (including 14 years of a 4-Day School Week structure). Students deserve quality teachers, but we’re not offering competitive salaries and teachers are leaving. Meanwhile, our 30-year old “new school” is showing its age, with a leaky roof, hot gyms and career and tech-ed spaces, and building entrances do not currently meet Minnesota Department of Education safety and security standards. Major components of our infrastructure are at the end of their useful life.

Ogilvie Public Schools is asking voters to consider three referendum questions – an operating levy and two bond referendum questions – on the November 8 ballot to address ongoing financial instability and long-term maintenance issues for our school.
Make an Informed DecisionWe are committed to providing information about the referendum so voters can make an informed decision at the polls. More information will be posted on our website, featured on our social media channels, and shared at public meetings in the days and weeks to come.
Questions can be directed to Superintendent Kathy Belsheim at 320-272-5075 or kbelsheim@ogilvie.k12.mn.us. |
