Ogilvie Community Supports Schools; Approves Referendum Questions
Ogilvie, MN (November 9, 2022) - Ogilvie schools will see big changes in the coming years, most notably investments in infrastructure and long-term maintenance.
The unofficial results are:
Question 1: Operating Levy to support programs and student services.
793–Yes
777–No
Question 2: Bond Referendum will fund increased security in schools, complete roof projects, repair the pool and track, fix drainage problems near the playground and provide new playground equipment.
807–Yes
756–No
Question 3: Bond Referendum will fund completion of the ventilation system.
772–Yes

“The referendum questions passed on the Nov. 8 election will make a big difference in the learning environment and facilities for our students and staff,” noted Ogilvie Public Schools Superintendent Kathy Belsheim. “We thank all voters who made their voices heard, and we thank all of you for supporting our students, families, and our hard-working staff, and for believing in the continued success of our strong, thriving community.”

Ogilvie School Board Chair, Josh Smith believes that now that the election is over, a new chapter in the future of the entire Ogilvie community can begin. “While we acknowledge not everyone voted yes on these questions, we believe there is common ground in supporting the needs of our students, and we will build on that common ground to ensure that we all move forward together as a strong, united community.”
